The Talos Principle probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the Portal series. Valve's first-person puzzlers have been massively influential on the genre and Devolver Digital isn't shying away from that fact. Actually, the publisher is leaning into it with this brilliant promotional video for the just-released The Talos Principle 2.
In it, GLaDOS — the main antagonist of Valve's Portal series — features in a short let's play-style video, providing a running commentary on some gameplay footage of Croteam's latest. As always, the character's cutting observations steal the show, and Ellen McLain's iconic performance brings Portal memories flooding back. It's a neat video that has Devolver and Croteam poking some fun at their own game.
We're currently working on our review for The Talos Principle 2, but the reception generally seems super positive. Have you started playing the puzzler yet? What do you think of this video? Tell us in the comments section below.

Brilliant, I think Glados' voice is so soothing, as the article says brings back really good memories of Portal.
Never tried the first Talos Principle, now I think I should and hopefully move on to this one!!
Can’t remember the last trailer that got a chuckle out of me, but this one certainly did.
..... Aaaand cue the Portal remasters.
@Mostik If you enjoyed the Portal games then the Talos Principle is a must! That and The Witness were top notch puzzle games last gen. Really looking forward to this sequel.
@TJ81 Nice one buddy, I will definitely check it out, pretty sure the first one is on PS+ which is a winner!
Omg! I had no idea it was this close. Kind of fall off my radar. Loved the original! (£24.99 is a no brainer for me, just bought it). Might have to save if for Chrimbo, 9 years after the original
God I miss Portal. Really wish they would remaster the first two or do a third one.
Although I think this generation has been slightly over-saturated with new versions of old games, I'd be on a Portal double-pack remake in a heartbeat
@Ken_Kaniff I replayed them on Switch not long ago, and I tell ya, I don't think they need a remaster at all. They still look and play great, and the sound design is stellar. I think the Source engine holds up wonderfully.
@ImmaWario I'm not surprised. Two is arguably my favorite game of all time.
I have no time to Talos Principle 2 at the moment but the first is one of my favourite puzzle games ever. So glad the second one seems to be living up to expectations
Oh my, this is a work of genius! Huge fan of the first game, so picked this one up day one and am loving it. The sense of scale from Portal 1 to Portal 2 is definitely reflected here, and you certainly get that Portal vibe whilst playing, in the best way. The puzzles are so satisfying to solve and the story and lore are top notch. A wee bit dodgy on the performance side of things on PS5, but nothing major and certainly doesn't detract from the general quality of the game.
That was pretty brilliant! Loved the copyright infringement comment!
